The Associate Dean for Finance and Administration (ADFA) is the Chief Administrative Officer for the college and is responsible for the college’s day to day financial and administrative operations. He/she advises/assists the Dean in developing the college’s annual revenue and expense budgets, in modeling multi-year financial scenarios and in monitoring financial activity. He/she establishes and implements policies to direct the administration of areas including financial, staffing, space, information technology and any other areas as deemed necessary by the Dean. As part of the College Senior management team, he/she helps formulate the strategic plan for the College.
The ADFA supports strategic planning by providing analytical reports (detailing enrollment, staffing, financial and space trends/requirements) needed for decisions regarding resource allocation. The ADFA works closely with the other Associate Deans, department chairs, and Budget Officer for the college to determine budgetary needs and plan new initiatives that are aligned with academic and institutional resources and strategic goals. The ADFA works with the Assistant Dean for Administration as well as with staff in the Dean’s Office responsible for budgetary transactions, human resources, and information technology. The ADFA represents the Dean/College to various internal and external audiences and constituents. The Associate Dean will play a lead role in developing and advancing the mission of the college during a period of unprecedented growth and has shared oversight of the Arnold Goldstein Simulation Laboratory Suite operations.
M.B.A. with 10 years related and progressively responsible experience. Must be highly organized, motivated and energetic. Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment, make reasoned decisions and provide leadership in a consultative and collaborative environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent management skills. Experience with automated spreadsheets, financial databases and with developing “dashboard” reports; high level of analytical skills. Background check will be required.
Preferred Qualifications included: Progressively responsible experience in financial management in a higher education institution using responsibility center management (RCM). Experience with health care educational and research programs in a university setting. Working experience with Banner or ARGOS financial systems.
