Position Summary:
The Finance Group in the D’Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts, seeks to hire a tenure-track or tenured faculty. Qualified candidates at the Assistant, Associate, and Full level will be considered.
Qualifications:
The Group has seventeen full-time, research-active, tenured or tenure-track faculty and five full-time lecturers. Areas of research focus include empirical corporate finance and investments and corporate governance, along with some interest in international finance and entrepreneurial finance. In recent years, Group faculty have published multiple articles in the top finance journals, including the Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, Review of Financial Studies, and Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis. The Group maintains many major research databases including: the WRDS platform, Compustat (North American and Global), CRSP (stock and mutual funds), SDC (all components), Audit Analytics, Dealscan, Boardex, DirectEdgar, Riskmetrics (board and takeover defenses), KLD, Factiva, OSIRIS, Execucomp, Bloomberg, TASS, GMI Ratings-Corporate Library, 13F Ownership, and others. The Group emphasizes a strong commitment to teaching excellence in finance and a strong research program focused on top-tier journals. Primary teaching responsibilities are in the area of corporate finance or investments at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
We seek candidates who have or expect to have a doctorate in finance or closely related field before the start date and who are committed to excellence in teaching and research. Seasoned candidates should have a significant research record and leadership potential. The candidate must have experience in, or a demonstrated commitment to, working with a diverse staff or student population.
