Position Summary:
The Department of Physics invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Network Science. We are particularly interested in expanding our current focus on the fundamental aspects of network formation and evolution from a broad statistical physics perspective, and exploring their applications to various real world problems, from biological to social and communication networks. The main appointment is expected to reside in the Department of Physics. However, in exceptional cases, joint appointments between Physics and other departments will also be explored for qualified candidates with background in other areas, like computer science and biology.
Qualifications:
Required qualifications include: Ph.D. degree in physics, computer science, or a related field; a strong record of research in network science that can support the teaching mission of the appropriate department; excellent communication skills and an interest working with students and collaborating with the community and industry.
