Under the direct supervision of the Associate Director for Operations, the Admissions Processing Manager coordinates the processing of admission applications and application credentials by the admissions processing support staff. The incumbent oversees daily project assignment including pre-evaluation of applicants’ high school transcripts by re-calculating grade point averages (GPA), and reviewing students’ application materials in admission databases for accuracy. The Admissions Processing Manager assists the Associate Director with the ongoing assessment of the operations area including the development of process management reports and quality control reports for the application evaluation process and as necessary develops and implements application processing training. The incumbent will be responsible for managing multiple projects and prioritizing assignments in order to meet deadlines. S/he will be responsible for providing daily reporting to admissions leadership during the application review process.
In addition the incumbent is expected to provide exceptional customer service to applicants, parents, and guidance counselors regarding students’ application information and status. A successful candidate will be a team player with a strong work ethic, who actively contributes to the office welfare in a high volume, fast-paced environment.
Bachelor’s degree, and a minimum of 2-5 years of higher education or related experience required. Proven ability to work both collaboratively and independently with excellent communication skills, knowledge of higher education and issues related to the recruitment, admission and enrollment of students. In addition, demonstrated understanding and aptitude for the operational aspects of the admissions process is preferred. Must be organized and detail oriented. Ability to interpret data, as well as the ability to understand the “big picture” is necessary.
