North Shore Community College invites applications and nominations for the position of Vice President for Academic Affairs. A two-year state college providing more than 100 associate degrees and certificates, including health care options, corporate education, and career training programs, the College is one of the oldest and largest community colleges in Massachusetts. Located north of Boston, the College serves approximately 16,000 credit and non-credit students each year from sites in Danvers, Lynn, and Beverly.
The Vice President for Academic Affairs serves as the chief academic officer and a member of the President’s Cabinet, providing leadership and direction to the academic division. The Vice President for Academic Affairs is responsible for the planning and delivery of high quality instruction and academic support services and for the development of close ties with other components of the College, especially student support services.
It is expected that this leader will be active in regional, state and national professional organizations, build strong relationships and pathways with local school systems in the college service areas and similar groups as appropriate to advancing the core principles of the College’s mission, vision and strategic priorities. The Vice President for Academic Affairs will have an earned doctorate with progressively responsible administrative experience in senior administrative and academic positions; and college-level teaching experience, preferably at a community college.
