PRESIDENT
Nevada State College (NSC), Nevada’s first four-year college, seeks a new President. NSC is a member of the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE), which is comprised of eight very distinctive colleges and universities.
Since its inception in 2002, enrollment at NSC has increased dramatically and the College has cultivated a campus rich in diversity. The College cherishes the variety of social, cultural, and intellectual identities represented in its campus community and views these as the cornerstones of the academic and work experience of students, faculty and staff. Nearly one-half of the student population and over one-third of faculty and staff come from traditionally underrepresented groups. The entire college community is committed to sustaining an open, tolerant, civil, and respectful environment recognizing that these attributes are integral to continued growth and success.
The next President will join the NSC community at a time of great excitement and momentum for the future. The new President will provide outstanding leadership and will serve as an ambassador to Southern Nevada and the metropolitan Las Vegas region.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to build consensus and leverage the benefits of a diverse community. Candidates should be innovative thinkers able to critically assess the College’s current position and lead the crafting of a compelling vision for the future. Finally, candidates will appreciate and leverage the potential of technology to enhance both the curriculum and operational processes of the College.
