Primary Function of Organization Unit: This position serves all customers in the sponsored programs and research regulatory environment including but not necessarily limited to the office of Sponsored Programs and Regulatory Compliance (SPARCS) as well as the center for Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S). The Division of Research, Innovation and Economic Development’s Sponsored Programs office facilitates the submission of proposals, negotiation of agreements, and the administration of internally and externally funded projects, as well as the administration of sub-agreements that provide funding to NC State University. This includes all aspects of externally sponsored research and scholarship, from pre-award management to non-fiscal post-award management. The office is charged with coordination of compliance with human and animal subject regulations promulgated by the federal government. Finally, the office provides general management of the institution’s approved Centers, Institutes and Laboratories. Regulatory compliance bridges directly into the NC State center for Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) which provides educational, technical, advisory, and operational support to the campus community by working in cooperation with university personnel to protect the environment and promote a safe and healthy workplace.
Essential Job Duties: The Research Information Systems Business Applications Analyst (RISBAA) will: •Develop technical solutions to address highly complex problems. •Provide users with ongoing technical and operational support for existing production software applications. •Perform an integral role in support of constituent training and coordination of ongoing business processes. Information Technology Project management. •Client solutions consulting.
Department Required Skills : Significant professional experience in database administration, writing database queries, application development, and investigating and solving system-related problems. Project management experience involving delegation of software development and support responsibilities to project team members. Candidate is required to demonstrate a customer service based work perspective. The successful candidate will possess sound analytical, written and oral presentation skills.
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: Experience in Oracle and MySQL database, SQL, PHP and Java. A business background in sponsored research administration. Work experience in sponsored research administration. Three years of professional experience in database administration, writing database queries, application development, and investigating and solving system-related problems. This includes project management experience involving delegation of software development and support responsibilities to project team members.
