Primary Function of Organization Unit: The department of Electrical and Computer Engineering has as its mission the accumulation, generation, and dissemination of knowledge in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Central to the mission is a high quality educational and research program that benefits our students and the State of North Carolina. The Department acts as a statewide focal point for development, growth and entrepreneurship. The national and international reputation of the department also facilitates future growth in areas of fundamental economic importance to the State.
Essential Job Duties: The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) is accepting applications for the position(s) of Lecturer (part-time), Teaching Assistant Professor(part-time), Teaching Associate Professor (part-time), Teaching Professor (part-time). Lecturer/Teaching Assistant/Associate/Professor will teach one to two courses per semester in the ECE curricula. The positions are one-semester or one-year, non-tenure-track appointments with possibility of renewal. Teaching undergraduate and/or graduate level courses in the areas of: Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Networking. These positions involve the teaching either face-to-face or online undergraduate or graduate level courses in a given area. It requires continuous communication with the students enrolled in the class, as well as monitoring student progress.
Minimum Education/Experience: Minimum of Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or a related field for Lecturer. PhD degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or a related field required for Teaching Assistant/Associate/Professor
Department Required Skills : Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching of undergraduate and graduate course(s). Expertise in course(s) topics required.
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: Experience in teaching at University level may be necessary/required depending on the course(s) topic. Expertise in the area of VLSI and digital circuits are of particular interest at this time.
