Primary Function of Organization Unit: The Department of Public Administration prepares students for a range of public service leadership posts, from legislative staffs and government agencies at all levels to nonprofit organizations and academic institutions. Offering Masters, Ph.D. and Certificate programs, the Department makes it possible for public administration professionals to study policy and theory, and explore thier practical implications, while continuing to work full or part time. This creates an especially rich classroom experience, built on real-world learning examples and opportunities.
Essential Job Duties: The School of Public and International Affairs, Department of Public Administration is accepting applications for the position of lecturer and/or Teaching Assistant Professor (part-time). We will keep applications on file for one year should openings arise in subsequent semesters. The positions are one-semester or one-year, non tenure-track appointments with possibility of renewal. Successful candidates will teach one or two courses with focus on public communication, municipal law, contract negotiations, urban management, economic development, project management, budgeting and financial management , public management and grant writing.
Minimum Education/Experience: A Master's degree and significant practitioner experience in a relevant field and teaching experience at the college level are required.
