Primary Function of Organization Unit: In the current year, the Language Training Center will devote its efforts to three military clients, namely the Special Warfare Center and School, a division of the Special Warfare Education Group (Airborne), at Ft. Bragg; the North Carolina National Guard, primarily but not exclusively at its training facility at Ft. Bragg; and the Joint Special Operations Command, at Ft. Bragg. Various languages will be taught, among them Arabic, Korean, Persian-Farsi, Persian-Dari, French, Somali, and Spanish.
Essential Job Duties: Instructors for lower-division, basic level, intensive language courses in Arabic, Korean, Persian-Farsi, Persian-Dari, French, Somali, Russian and Spanish. Intensive [6 hours/day] courses will take place at Ft. Bragg in Fayetteville, NC. Positions will be available from 6 weeks up to 40 weeks ranging from 30-40 hours a week through August 31, 2013 with renewal in subsequent years available, dependent upon grant renewal. Salary will be dependent on number and duration of courses. Each Lecturer will also be required to attend some training workshops before classes are in session.
Minimum Education/Experience: Master's degree (or higher) in related field or documented, equivalent education and specialized experience in specified language.
Department Required Skills : Applicants must be educated, cultured, native speakers of the languages in question, possessing excellent command of the language structure, excellent handwriting, and ability to engage students in authentic communicative situations using instructional styles other than lecturing.
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: Prior teaching experience is preferred.
