Primary Function of Organization Unit: The University Benefits Office of North Carolina State University administers statutory and voluntary benefit programs, as authorized by the General Assembly of North Carolina, the Office of State Personnel, and the University Group Insurance and Benefits Committee for over 9000 faculty and staff employees. The University Benefits office is responsible for managing the overall design, administration, communication, implementation and maintenance of benefit programs. In addition to health/welfare and retirement benefits, the University Benefits office also has responsibility of directing many other support programs such as Leave Administration.
Essential Job Duties: Serve as a strategic partner by providing program support, management and coordination for a variety of Leave programs offered by the Benefits Department. This position serves as a team member by providing support with regards to rights and responsibilities of both employees and management in the navigation of leave processes. The position requires extensive knowledge of various programmatic areas which impact leave administration including payroll, benefits, shared leave, disability, FMLA, workers' compensation, ADA, return to work issues and other leave related issues.
Department Required Skills : Knowledge of Human Resource functions including Leave Administration and FMLA.
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: 5 years of experience desired. Prefer at least a Bachelor's degree. HR certification (PHR, SPHR, etc.) is preferred as well.
