Primary Function of Organization Unit: Enterprise Application Services (EAS) is in the Office of Information Technology (OIT) division at North Carolina State University. EAS is responsible for the design, implementation, operation, enhancement & maintenance of the University's enterprise business applications. This includes: development, operation & maintenance of all enterprise administrative systems (Advancement, Financials, HR, Portal and Student Information Systems, Enterprise Imaging, Identity Management, etc.), configuration management, maintenance, enhancements, and application integration.
Essential Job Duties: This position serves as a Business Analyst for the Identity and Access Management (Oracle Identity Management Suite) applications. These applications support university-wide identity authentication and authorization operations in compliance with university policy and processes. The Business Analyst will manage the Identity and Access Management service and applications. He/She will be a critical member of the Identity and Access Management team and serve as the technical liaison between OIT, EAS, Central Offices, General NCSU Community and the vendor for configuration, implementation, upgrades and support across all units/colleges. This Advanced Business and Technology Applications Specialist position is responsible for working with the IT Manager, Technical Team Members, Functional Office and General NCSU community to implement and support highly advanced and complex business processes and software solutions with minimal supervision. He/She is proficient in both functional business process understanding and advanced technical solutions. This position provides technical production support, designs and develops system or process enhancements and new applications, performs system testing, writes and maintains technical specifications and documentation, communicates often and well with a wide range of colleagues. Department Required Skills : Significant Business Analysis experience in Identity Management, IT, and/or related areas. Possess strong judgment, leadership, communication, diplomacy, collaboration, and organization skills. Ability to interact positively and communicate appropriately with team members, campus representatives, customers, vendor, IT support staff and management. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts. Ability to independently, quickly, and efficiently identify and solve technical problems that can affect a large number of customers. Ability to independently develop and provide complete business and technical analysis often from occasionally general information. Ability to combine strong functional, conceptual and technical knowledge with a strong understanding of customer requirements to offer customer solutions to problems in a very practical, timely and efficient manner. Customer service skills are critical. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential. Thorough understanding of the project development life cycle, including but not limited to requirements gathering, prioritization, application analysis, development, testing, documentation, communication, approval and post migration validation. Attention to detail and ability to form strong relationships between team members, customers, and management is essential.
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred, but not required. Business Analyst certification preferred, but not required. Higher education experience also preferred.
