Primary Function of Organization Unit: DELTA's role within the Office of the Provost is to foster the integration and support of learning technologies in NC State's academic programs, both on the campus and at a distance. We coordinate the funding and production of all distance-based credit programs and courses for the university, and promote high-quality education by extending the reach of the faculty and collaboratively applying expertise in technology and pedagogy in an efficient, effective, and service-oriented environment.
Essential Job Duties: This position is part of the Applications Development team. This team designs, tests, modifies and retrofits software used by DELTA's internal and external clients. This position will be the primary person responsible for managing a content management service using Equella. This work will include: integration with other campus systems, developing workflows, custom coding/scripting, automation, system configuration/tuning and some system architecture. Initial focus areas will be: integration with our learning management system, Moodle; automation of user and group management; SSO, probably using Shibboleth; and possible replacement of the content storage component of the internally developed learning management system, WolfWare Classic.
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: Prefer 3+ years programming experience and Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field Previous experience with Equella Previous experience working with APIs; SOAP, REST or XML Experience with user/access/authorization management
