Primary Function of Organization Unit: The Department of Molecular Biomedical Sciences consists of 36 faculty who have a diversity of research and teaching interests. The Randell B Terry Center for Companion Animal Medicine (Terry Center) is a modern state of the art veterinary teaching hospital which opened in June 2011. The diagnostic imaging service is well equipped with 2 digital radiographic rooms (Siemens gantry with Canon flat panels), an RF room (Siemens), 2 GE Logic E9 ultrasound machines, a Siemens biplane cath lab (Infimed digital chain) and a 64 slice Siemens CT scanner. Equine and research CT studies are performed on a Siemens 16 slice scanner in the main college building as is both small and large animal scintigraphy (Mirage). MRI services for both small and large animals are provided by AnimalScan, also located in the main college building (Siemens Symphony 1.5T). Radiology is fully digital with a web-based Radiology Information System (Encompass/Fuji) and PACS (Amicas/Merge).
Essential Job Duties: The Department of Molecular Biomedical Sciences is currently recruiting a Non-Tenure Track Faculty position of Radiology as follows: Clinical Track Assistant or Associate Professor. The primary responsibility of this clinical track faculty member will be to assist in the provision of clinical radiology services within the Veterinary Health Complex. Active participation in the veterinary and graduate teaching programs and contribution to the knowledge base of the professional discipline through collaboration with other clinical specialists or basic scientists, or through independent research is also expected.
Minimum Education/Experience: DVM or equivalent
Department Required Skills : Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Radiology or Diplomate, European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging.
Necessary Licenses and Certifications: ACVR board eligible or ECVDI board eligible.
