Primary Function of Organization Unit: The Department of Clinical Sciences is dedicated to excellence in educating and training veterinarians and comparative biomedical scientists, furthering health care and wellness through discovery and clinical research, providing outstanding and compassionate medical care to a diverse range of animal patients, effectively engaging animal-owning public, government and industry partners, and providing leadership in integrating biomedical sciences to advance One Health.
Essential Job Duties: The Department of Clinical Sciences at NC State University (NCSU), College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Small Animal Soft Tissue and Oncologic Surgery. The selected candidate for this tenure-track position will: Develop new knowledge in the realm of soft tissue and oncologic surgery by conducting high quality collaborative research; provide effective and efficient patient care and hospital management, and continually improve quality of care as an integrated member of the surgery section and the teaching hospital as a whole; and develop innovative and valued didactic and clinical learning experiences for veterinary students, residents, interns, and veterinary practitioners.
Minimum Education/Experience: - Requires DVM or equivalent degree. - Completion of a residency in companion animal surgery is required by date of employment. -Board eligibility in veterinary surgery is required. - Candidates must meet requirements for a North Carolina Faculty License, or regular North Carolina veterinary licensure.
Department Required Skills : - Expertise in small animal soft tissue and oncologic surgery is required.
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: - Diplomate status in ACVS is preferred.
Necessary Licenses and Certifications: - Candidates must meet requirements for a North Carolina Faculty License, or regular North Carolina veterinary licensure.
