Primary Function of Organization Unit: The College of Engineering maintains as its mission providing an education of highest quality for students, conducting research relevant to the needs of society, and actively sharing knowledge with the people of North Carolina through outreach programs. The primary purpose of the central College Business Office is to manage the business and financial affairs of the College of Engineering.
Essential Job Duties: Serve as accounting technician for College of Engineering Solar Center and Central Office as needed. Support Solar Center by preparing/ examining/ analyzing accounting records, financial statements and/or other financial reports; processing financial transactions (vouchers, various interdepartmental transactions; requisitions, AR invoices, etc.); reconcile assigned projects and p-cards.
Department Required Skills : - Familiarity with MS Excel. - Previous professional accounting experience (general, AP, AR). - Knowledge of general accounting principles. - Strong communication skills. - Ability to learn and use university systems. - Strong time management skills.
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: - Five or more years of accounting experience. - Advanced knowledge of University spending guidelines for various funding sources. - Working knowledge of Peoplesoft Financials and CAMS.
