National University is the second largest private non-profit university in California and was founded over forty years ago to serve adult students. Made possible by a generous gift from T. Denny Sanford, the Sanford Education Center will open in September 2014. It will be a state of the art Corporate and Community Education Facility, housing the Nonprofit Management Masters and Certificate programs, the Sanford Harmony and Sanford Inspire Education programs, the Corporate Education programs, and various Extended Education degree and certificate programs.
The Executive Director is responsible for the development, revenue, financial viability and program quality of high quality self-support SEC programs. Establishes and implements entrepreneurial strategic plans for SEC to align growth, operations and outreach with National University's Strategic Plan, campus priorities and community needs; Ensures first-class programs are developed that meet the strategic educational goals of client organizations and create increased opportunities for faculty development. Develops and implements programs that will result in significant growth of matriculated international students. Supports faculty endeavors to develop international opportunities and partnerships; manages all SEC personnel, to include recruiting and supervising qualified course instructors.
The Executive Director must have an advanced degree and evidence significant administrative experience in higher education with an emphasis in self-support operations. She/he will have demonstrable experience developing and implementing effective marketing and recruitment strategies for undergraduate and graduate programs. Preferred candidates will have experience leading world-class certificate and executive education programs. She/he will also be savvy in the creation of strategic partnerships that lead to revenue opportunities. Experience managing a fast-paced, cost-recovery continuing education model is essential. She/he must have knowledge of sound personnel practices and procedures, and the ability to plan, organize and direct others in the operation of the various activities of Extended Education and International Programs. This person must be an entrepreneurial and innovative leader with expertise in extended education operations and international programs.
