Director of Student Experience
The Director of Student Experience will provide leadership and overall strategic responsibility for elevating the performance of the institution in delivering and achieving an unparalleled experience for our students. This role develops and recommends organizational capability by participating in and executing the Signature Student Experience. Partners with leadership in creating an institutional culture of customer care. The Director of Student Experience will supervise Student Life and the Response Center (which serves as a primary contact for the majority of prospective students).
The Director of Student Experience, in conjunction with other student service departments, will develop and maintain a student service focused web site, including development of an on-line new student orientation; This role will participate in the development and execution of the Signature Student Experience by identifying improvement opportunities, understanding student issues and developing intra departmental policies and procedures that align with the Signature Student Experience; The Director of Student Experience will partner with Human Resources to create and offer training and development tools around university level service excellence. S/he will create survey vehicles that assess student satisfaction and educate and inform key stakeholders on our progress with increasing student satisfaction and retention. This role will supervise the graduation ceremony process. Additionally, this role will supervise the Response Center and develop an on campus concierge model. S/he will supervise Student Life in developing and implementing programs geared toward student needs for networking events and other on campus initiatives. Other duties as assigned.
The Director of Student Experience is required to have a Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field, and a minimum of 5 years of related experience demonstrating a progressive increase in responsibility. Additionally, the successful candidate will be proficient with Microsoft Office products. Strong verbal and written communication skills, and strong interpersonal and networking skills to help move the department and University forward are required. Demonstrated experience working as a change agent in an organization is preferred. The ideal candidate will have the ability to make persuasive presentations in front of large audiences, and will have the ability to build positive relationships with individuals and departments to build a common vision. The successful candidate will be able to execute and manage complex projects with multiple departments, multiple stakeholders and deadlines. Technical knowledge of processes that impact students at every level of the institution is strongly preferred.
