Maintenance Worker
Morehouse College is the nation's largest liberal arts college for men. Job Summary
The Maintenance Worker performs a variety of semi-skilled manual tasks and job duties in support of various maintenance and building Trades provided by the Physical Plant Maintenance Department. Work Schedule: Monday- Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM, some weekends required.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Duties may include but are not limited to:
• Install, repair and maintain various types of equipment, utilizing power and hand tools
• Assemble and breakdown special set-up equipment.
• Sheet rock installation and finishing
• Painting
• Basic Carpentry
• Furniture Assembly and Repair
• Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED equivalency; preferred two years of College, Associate Degree or Technical School Diploma in carpentry or building construction field; five years of work experience in the care and maintenance of similar facilities; valid Georgia Driver's License (Must be maintained throughout employment); ability to work with minimal supervision; must possess excellent communication and customer service skills; basic computer skills to enter and retrieve work orders and take departmental on-line training as required; and must be a dependable worker and have stable attendance record.
