The MGH Institute of Health Professions invites applications and nominations for Associate Chair, Department of Physical Therapy. The Associate Chair reports directly to the Department Chair and supports the Chair and faculty in curriculum development and administration of entry-level and post-professional academic programs, faculty development and recruitment. Responsibilities also include teaching in areas of expertise, scholarship, academic and research advising, and service. This position offers exciting opportunities for growth in the design of new program initiatives, interprofessional education, research, community involvement and clinical practice.
Position is a full-time, 12-month appointment with rank and salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
• PhD or equivalent post-professional doctoral degree, or degree in progress
• Eligible for PT licensure in Massachusetts
• Experience or interest in educational administration and curriculum development
• Commitment to innovative educational models, including interdisciplinary education and hybrid learning technology

Department of Physical Therapy:
The Department of Physical Therapy offers both professional and post-professional programs. The professional program, accredited by CAPTE, leads to a DPT degree, and is well respected for its visionary curriculum. The post-professional curriculum consists of several on-site and distance education options for the experienced physical therapist including a Master of Science degree for International Students, Certificate of Advanced Study and Clinical Residency in Orthopedic Physical Therapy and Manual Therapy. A developing interdisciplinary PhD program and international activities are new areas of growth. The programs’ highly respected faculty are recognized for their expertise as educators, researchers, and master clinicians and for their involvement in professional activities. The Institute has a diverse student body with national and international representation.
The Institute, founded in 1977, is an autonomous graduate educational institution accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.
