GENERAL DUTIES: Assists with Institutional Research projects, data, and reports.

- Coordinates the design and maintenance of Institutional Research databases.

- Works with large complex data sets, including exporting/importing from various sources, cleaning data files, and maintaining historical records. 

- Assists with the design, production and administration of survey instruments, analyzing quantitative and qualitative data.

- Prepares and runs reports for internal and external constituents.

- Works with others in the College community to assure high-quality information and reporting.

- Performs related duties as assigned.

Job Title Name:  Institutional Research Analyst

CONTRACT TITLE: Assistant to HEO

FLSA: Non-exempt

CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION: Reporting to the Director of Institutional Research and Assessment, the Institutional Research Analyst is primarily responsible for the preparation of the Institutional Research routine and ad hoc reports, processing survey data, and providing day to day support to the operations of the Office.

Specific duties include:
- Coordinate with various Medgar Evers College (MEC) administrative offices in the collection of internal students surveys; be responsible for the scanning and processing of the surveys as assigned.
- Assist with the preparation of Institutional Research routine and ad hoc reports, PowerPoint presentations, and other kinds of written communications that present the work of the Office with respect to research, assessment and evaluation.
- Prepare data tables and graphical presentation for institutional reports and presentations.
- Scan and process the faculty observed teaching evaluations for Faculty Personal and Budget Committee.
- Create survey instruments with Magenta Office or equivalent computer software.
- Perform internet searches on institutional research or student survey topics.
- Assist with the annual reporting of institutional surveys to external constituents such as U.S. News and Princeton Reviews.
- Assist with the production of the annual MEC snapshot.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree required.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: - Two years of work experience in a higher-education setting preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Must have demonstrated satisfactory qualities of personality and character for work within a team with quantitative, analytical, and critical thinking skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as internet-research skills
- Ability to handle detailed work and data; work as part of a high level administrative team; multi-task within a fast paced environment; and handle confidential information with demonstrated tact and maturity

COMPENSATION: $38,407 - $40,129

BENEFITS: CUNY offers a comprehensive benefits package to employees and eligible dependents based on job title and classification. Employees are also offered pension and Tax-Deferred Savings Plans.  Part-time employees must meet a weekly or semester work hour criteria to be eligible for health benefits. Health benefits are also extended to retirees who meet the eligibility criteria.
