McPherson College is seeking to fill a one-year sabbatical replacement in Sociology for fall-spring 2012-2013. Doctorate and A.B.D. considered. Broad training in sociology desired. Courses taught might include introduction to sociology, minorities in the U.S., social problems, juvenile delinquency, criminal justice, and urban sociology. Commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching, ability to work cooperatively with students and colleagues, and ability to advise and direct undergraduate research are expected. Experience in small college setting preferred.
McPherson College, a private liberal arts college with a strong tradition in its Behavioral Sciences Department, is located in a progressive small town (consistently included in the top 100 small towns in the United States).
