Student Financial Service Counselor:
Responsibilities include private loan debt management counseling; participating in extensive outreach programs. Daily duties involve the following:
Providing outstanding customer service while demonstrating patience and understanding to students who received private loans;
Heavy outreach to students via e-mail, phone to advice students about financial management strategies including entrance and exit counseling, debt management and financial planning
Review the student’s outstanding loans’ status and understand the student’s financial situation in order to assist students in developing and implementing realistic financial budgets and determine available options.
Develop and maintain understanding of the private student programs in order to provide correct information to students
Maintain list of students and organize notes and students’ response to ensure sufficient coverage and follow up
Collecting and submit student loan’s related documents, verifies accuracy of documents and consistency of financial data, and student information.
Coordinate with team members and servicers to ensure loan documents are processed and student’s loan status are updated properly.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Intermediate level in Microsoft office suites: Word, Excel. Must know how to use vlookup, filter, mail merge etc.
Must be able to coordinate with other team members to maximize team’s efficiency
Organized and detailed
Title IV experience is preferred, but, not critical
