Duties and Responsibilities: Loyola University Chicago (LUC), College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Philosophy invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Professor with a specialization in Logic and in Ethics starting in the academic year 2013-2014. Candidates should expect to serve the Department's needs in Logic and in Ethics, at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, teach courses in the core curriculum, and assume the customary duties of committee work, thesis supervision, etc. The standard teaching load is 3-2.
Minimum Qualifications: The successful candidate will possess a Ph.D. in Philosophy and a research and teaching portfolio that is commensurate with the rank of Professor. The candidate should exhibit a strong commitment to excellence in research, teaching, and service, and possess a record of distinguished scholarship and student mentorship. The candidate also should be willing to support the mission of LUC and the goals of a Jesuit Catholic Education as well as play a central role in the Department's Jesuit First Studies Program.
