This job expired 1 month ago.Duties and Responsibilities: Loyola University Chicago's School of Continuing and Professional Studies (SCPS) invites applications for the full-time, non-tenure-track faculty position of Faculty Director of Online Education, with a target start date of spring semester of the current academic year. Under the direction of the SCPS Acting Dean, the Faculty Director will be responsible for initiating, developing, and managing online academic programs in the SCPS, which include credit-based degree programs at the baccalaureate and potentially master's level. Some teaching may also be expected. In addition, the Director will oversee operations for the University's Summer Session Online Courses and J-Term, Loyola's accelerated January course program.
The School of Continuing and Professional Studies is located at Loyola's Water Tower Campus. Since 1914, Loyola University has been a leader in providing degree-completion programming for returning adult students. The School currently offers a BA in Managerial Arts and Leadership, a BA in Pastoral Leadership, and houses the Institute for Paralegal Studies. The development of future degree-completion programs to serve the needs of adult students is an integral part of the School's strategic plan. Minimum Qualifications: Applicants with a Ph.D. in Higher Education or a related field are preferred, although candidates with a master's degree and at minimum three to five years of experience in related program development may be considered. Successful applicants must possess a record of effective program development, an understanding of the relationship of academic programs to selected target audiences, and significant experience preparing academic proposals for approval. Knowledge of and experience with curriculum design, development, and implementation in a continuing education, adult-degree completion environment is essential, as is familiarity with assessing student learning outcomes for courses and academic programs.
