This job expired 1 month ago.Duties and Responsibilities: Loyola University Chicago (LUC), College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Theology, and The Joan and Bill Hank Center for the Catholic Intellectual Heritage (CCIH) invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track, renewable position as Director of the Catholic Studies program with the rank of Instructor in Theology beginning academic year 2012-2013. The Program Director assists the CCIH Director, coordinates the Catholic Studies Minor and serves the theology department's undergraduate core curriculum in Catholic Studies. Candidates will be expected to work closely with the Director of the CCIH in programming and fulfilling the Catholic Studies Capstone, as well as teach a 3-3 course load in LUC's undergraduate core curriculum, with particular attention to the Roman Catholic tradition. The successful candidate will be an excellent pedagogue and eager to teach one or more of the following courses: Roman Catholicism, Church, Christology, Sacraments, Marriage, and Christianity through Time. Finally, as the Catholic Studies Minor is an interdisciplinary program, candidates with expertise in Catholic literary arts and fiction are especially encouraged.
Minimum Qualifications: Candidates should have a Ph.D., a record of excellent teaching, and a genuine willingness to support the mission of LUC and the goals of a Jesuit Catholic education.
