Position Summary:
As a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI), Lone Star College-North Harris (LSC-North Harris) was awarded a grant from the U.S. Department of Education (USDE) to develop and implement strategies that will
expand the college’s capacity to serve Hispanic and other low-income students in the content areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM). LSC-North Harris’ HSI-STEM project, entitled Math
Success, will revise seven key math courses, convert selected courses for distance delivery, develop Outreach and Success Strategies, and renovate and equip classrooms and Math Success Center to increase Hispanic and low-income students’ access and progress in high-demand STEM and other fields. Faculty development and a model articulation plan with nearby University of Houston will support improved student success, graduation, and transfer for baccalaureate attainment. Provides high level of coordination and support for the HSI-STEM grant. Performs duties for the Director such as managing financial and budget reports to include tracking expenditures; tracking progress of grant activities, goals and objectives; coordinating travel arrangements; maintaining schedules and calendar.

Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent and at least 5 years of experience in administrative support (at least three of which are in coordination/supervision roles and have accounting/budget responsibilities). Strong skills in word-processing, spreadsheet and database. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
