The School of Arts and Sciences, Beirut campus, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant or associate professor in the Department of Social Sciences beginning in Fall 2012 in the area of international conflict resolution. The successful applicant will contribute to the Master’s in International Affairs as well as undergraduate teaching through development of a strong, externally funded research program, contributions to graduate teaching and master’s thesis supervision, and participation in program development. Preferred areas of expertise include but are not limited to: nonproliferation, disarmament, and arms control; international conflict diplomacy and negotiation; emerging global and regional security regimes; resolution of inter- and intrastate conflict, and role of international and non-state actors in conflict and its resolution. In addition, the ideal candidate will also be proficient in quantitative research methodology and/or specialize in research on East Asia or Africa.
The successful applicant will have a Ph.D. from a leading university, preferably with postdoctoral research, teaching, and/or program management experience in a developing country.
