Associate Professor/Professor of Film Studies (Film History, Theory, and Criticism) and Director of the Film Studies Program
Seeking candidates to teach core Film Studies courses (Introduction to Film Studies, Film History, Film Theory) and direct a growing program in Film Studies. Thanks to a generous gift, Lawrence University has a new video production facility. This position is intended to help us strengthen the existing Film Studies Program, add video production, and reshape the film curriculum. Specialization open, but candidates with expertise in documentary film, global or transnational film, or film genre preferred. In addition to an ongoing research agenda, the ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to liberal arts teaching, including Lawrence University’s signature, interdisciplinary Freshman Studies program. Ph.D. in Film, Cinema, Media Studies or related field.
