Description: This position will collaborate with product development professionals, university faculty, and subject-matter experts within discipline-specific domains to create premier online, post-secondary degree programs and courses for working adults.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Acts as Learning Management System (LMS), Content Management System (CMS), and Laureate Portal expert and recommends specific technologies that might enhance the learning experience.
- Functions as 'test pilot' to evaluate and improve course content with an eye toward student experience and sound instructional design standards.
- Reviews reading resources, media, and assignments to assure alignment with learning objectives.
- Ensures writing is coherent and appropriate for the intended audience.
- Ensures directions for assignments and navigation are clear and appropriate for the intended audience.
- Consults with Course Developer throughout the process regarding any recommended changes to course content.
- Participates in the writing of online course content as needed, focusing on the student experience with consistent Laureate voice and style.
- Creates courses in LMS.
- Assures all course components are complete and uploaded into LMS.
- Provides oversight of work performed by external vendors as needed.
- May perform other duties and responsibilities that management may deem necessary from time to time.
- One of the following required: advanced degree in instructional design or curriculum design, certificate in instructional design, or 1'3 years experience in this field
- Proven experience collaborating with faculty
- Online design experience required
- Excellent writing, critical thinking, problem solving, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Microsoft Office skills required.
- Must have HTML, Dreamweaver, and Learning Management System experience.
- Knowledge of innovative technologies and tools, Java script, and cascading style sheets is a plus.
