Description: GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Assistant Director of Financial Aid is responsible for working with the Director of Financial Aid to manage Federal Title IV, State and Institutional programs and ensure students receive quality customer service with every interaction with the Office of Financial Aid. This individual will monitor several aspects of staff productivity as well as be heavily involved with student packaging and customer satisfaction.

In addition, this individual will work with the Director of Financial Aid to manage staff productivity. Areas include: management of daily outbound call activity, ensure positive student experience in all interactions with the department, monitor phone activity to ensure lines are available for students to call, monitor service incidents in Onyx to ensure service level agreement is maintained.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the administering of all aspects of Title IV, State and Institutional aid.
  • Assist in monitoring staff productivity through use of Powerfaids reporting.
  • Assist the Director in assuring that regulatory compliance of Title IV aid is adhered to.
  • Provide staff feedback and training through analysis of quality assurance error data.
  • Assist in the development of documentation of department policies and procedures for administering Title VI, State and Institutional Aid.
  • Assist in development of efficient and effective information for aid applicants; including but not limited to written materials.
  • Other duties as assigned.



Experience:EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of financial aid experience.
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of Title IV aid, understanding of State of Illinois aid programs is a plus.
  • Must have thorough knowledge and experience working with PowerFAIDS.
  • Experience working with Banner is a plus. Must have experience with Microsoft word and excel.
  • Must be detailed-oriented and a great communicator.
  • Must be able interact with offices outside of the aid office, Must be able to multi-task.
