Salary Range: Faculty Salary Schedule - Commensurate with degree and experience
Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. in Reading, Literacy, Language Arts, Composition, English, Education (Developmental/Adult Learning), TESOL or related field Experience in course and program-wide assessment Experience and/or educational training in English as a second language and/or counseling Knowledge and experience in placement and assessment including holistic assessment of writing as well as best practices in developmental reading and writing instruction
Minimum Qualifications: Masters Degree or higher in Reading, Literacy, Language Arts, Composition, English, Education (Developmental/ Adult Learning), TESOL or related field Minimum 2 years teaching developmental education (reading, writing, English as a second language, student development) at the post-secondary and/or adult level
Responsibilities: Responsible for full-time faculty workload per the Faculty Association Agreement, which primarily includes teaching courses in a variety of delivery modes in Developmental Reading and Writing. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to: collaborating in course coordination, development and improvement; advising students and meeting scheduled office hours; orienting and mentoring faculty colleagues; and participating on departmental, divisional and college-wide teams. Must demonstrate a commitment to diversity and student success initiatives; participate in course assessment; work effectively in a team-based environment; support continuous improvement and adherence to the community college philosophy; and, remain current in both subject area and teaching methodologies.
