Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree preferred. Programming in Unity game engine or similar environment preferred. Project management experience preferred PMP or Project + certification a plus. Two years of college teaching experience preferred.
Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree or higher required. A minimum of two years recent professional work experience in computer programming including writing structured and object-oriented applications using design tools such as flow charts and UML diagrams. Familiarity with Python, Java, .NET Suite, Objective C.
Responsibilities: The Computer Information Technologies program is accepting applications for full-time faculty to teach introductory and advanced level programming courses. Platforms include Mobile Application Development and Meaningful Gaming. Familiarity with popular mobile operating systems such as IOS and Android is required. Programming languages include Python, C#.Net, Objective C, ASP.Net, VB.Net and Java. Programming experience in meaningful gaming software preferred. Teaching assignments may include online, day, evening and/or weekend classes. Responsibility will also include taking lead role in the development of immersive and simulated learning content through the Digital Innovation Center for Arts, Science, and Technology (DICAST). Demonstrated Student Retention experience and course Instructional design is a plus. Essential Duties: Advises students on curriculum, academic programs, employment and career goals, and other matters as appropriate. Responds to requests of academic area and/or program leaders, department heads, committee chairs, records office, etc. in a timely and thorough manner. Consistently meets instructional schedule and other assignments and commitments in support of the college. Establishes and maintains regular and appropriate office hours Treats all members of the college community with dignity and respect. Works through established channels to resolve problems. Participates in activities designed to promote attainment of the college vision and its missions. Participates in academic area and/or program planning and improvement activities as requested. Meets requirements of the faculty evaluation plan in a timely manner and with the intention of maintaining teaching effectiveness, professional development and support of college/community initiatives. Attends Commencement. Attends and participates in academic area and/or program and department meetings. Formally documents learning assessment efforts in a timely manner. Learns and complies with all college policies. Upholds and enforces the student code of conduct. Core Competencies: Must have demonstrated experience working within a team based environment. Good written and oral communication skills required. The candidate must demonstrate commitment to work in an academic environment as well as a commitment to diversity, continuous improvement, and the community college philosophy.
