KVCC is a 2-year comprehensive community college serving approximately 2,400 students from Somerset, Kennebec, Knox counties and well beyond. In 2014 we will expand with a 600-acre campus in Hinckley, an exciting time as the college enters a new phase of academic energy and innovative programming.
The successful candidate will have a BS in Accounting and an MBA or Master’s in Accounting; with a preference for a Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant.
The ideal experience profile of a candidate will include: at least five years in accounting along with experience in higher education, human resources, physical plant management, and supervisory experience. Excellent communication skills and strong computer skills are a must.
The Dean of Finance and Administration will be a critical part of the senior management team of the college, overseeing financial management including day-to-day financial functions, analysis, projections, financial reporting, and strategy; coordinating auxiliary services (college store, café) and directing all physical plant and human resource activities.
The Dean will oversee approximately 12 staff across the business office and human resource functions of the college operation. In addition, the Dean will also ensure all capital project coordination, procurement management, and compliance to meet MCCS financial objectives. The Dean will provide accounting, reporting and treasury functions for the affiliated nonprofit KVCC Foundation.
This position will report directly to the President and be part of the KVCC confidential unit. The Dean will participate in regular system wide meetings and in this role be part of the statewide MCCS financial team.
