Keene State College's Department of Music is seeking applicants for an Artist in Residence position in Music Technology and Applied Music with additional expertise in studio recording and sound design to begin fall 2014. This is a two-year position with the possibility of renewal.
Primary responsibilities will be to teach music technology, teach in an applied studio, and to direct an ensemble. Faculty may also have an opportunity to teach courses in the College’s Integrative Studies Program. Other responsibilities include participating in department activities and campus-wide committees, maintaining an active record of performance and scholarship, advising and mentoring undergraduate research/creative activity, and active recruiting for the department. Keene State College is the only liberal arts institution in northern New England accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music. There are two degree programs (B.M. and B.A. in Music) available to the 105 music majors and minors at Keene State (with concentrations in Performance, Music Education, Music Composition, and Music Technology). Each year the Department of Music presents nearly 75 recitals and concerts by its students, faculty, and guest artists, making it a leader among cultural institutions in the beautiful and historic Monadnock Region of southwest New Hampshire. Qualifications Required: Master’s Degree in Music; professional performing experience; a demonstrated record of applied studio teaching experience at the college or university level with percussion, violin, or piano preferred.
Additional Desirable Qualifications: The ability to teach courses in Music Theory, Aural Skills, or Music Composition; publications and scholarly activity. Minimum Salary $48,000.
