Job Details
The incumbent in this position will assist with supervising the Master Math Lab on campus in the absence of the Lab Supervisor, assisting students in the operation of the software, answering mathematical questions, tutoring students, proctoring exams, maintain usage statistics, training tutors on the software, assist with coordinating the selection and hiring of tutors, supervising tutors, and scheduling staff.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesSupervise the Master Math Lab in the absence of the Lab Supervisor. Assist the Lab Supervisor as directed. Tutor students in mathematical content. Support instructors and tutors as needed. Enforce Lab policies. Monitor and mentor Lab tutors. Provide
instructions and directions for the students to use the course software. Monitor the exam area for student compliance with procedures. Maintain a quiet and orderly learning environment in the Lab. Assist with checking out supplies to students. Ensure that supplies are in their proper place and adequately stocked.
Associate’s degree in Mathematics or Mathematics Education, or related field OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Previous experience tutoring experience at the high school or college level.
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or related field.
Experience working in higher education and/or in a math lab setting.
Previous Experience with computer-based learning systems.
Certified teaching experience at the high school or college level.
