Psychology & Neuroscience - Augustana College, Rock Island, Illinois, invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor position beginning in August of the 2019-2020 academic year, with possible annual renewal up to a total of three years upon mutual agreement. Augustana College is a selective liberal arts college of approximately 2,500 students, most of whom live on a wooded 115-acre campus.  Rock Island, Illinois, is part of the Illinois-Iowa Quad Cities along the Mississippi River, a diverse metropolitan area with 400,000 residents, located about three hours west of Chicago and 45 minutes east of Iowa City, home of the University of Iowa.

Our department seeks a candidate with expertise in clinical/counseling psychology. Primary teaching responsibilities include several courses annually in Psychopathology and Clinical & Counseling Psychology. In addition, the candidate should have a willingness to teach supporting courses in the major (e.g., Intro, Statistics, or Research Methods) and/or first-year courses in the General Education program. Opportunities also exist to develop an immersive course for our January term. Candidates should have a strong commitment to teaching with the possibility of student advising and research supervision. This is a one-year appointment, but is renewable upon mutual agreement up to a total of three years. Ph.D. is strongly preferred, although ABD will be considered.
