Reports To: The Operations Associate reports to the Operations Coordinator who reports to the director of operations.

Position Summary: The Operations Associate works under the direction of the Operations Coordinator to provide office support and event planning for the School of Business and Nonprofit Management. Provides direct administrative support for the Director and Dean of the School.

This position works 29 hours a week; must be able to work until 6:30 pm, Monday – Thursday and have the flexibility to support SBNM events as scheduled.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provides primary office and phone coverage to provide continuous service to our students, faculty, and guests.  Our hours of operations are from 8:30 AM till 6:30 PM. This will necessitate working from the afternoon to the start of our evening classes. Event coverage may require additional hours not specified.
  • Spearheads all event planning
  • Photocopies materials for faculty, as appropriate.
  • Help to update the database of faculty and student addresses (email/postal).
  • Handles scheduling, correspondence, subscriptions, certificate distribution, office hour postings, signage, and other administrative tasks as assigned.
  • Sends out weekly announcements electronically to all students and faculty.
  • Inventory, order, and stock office supplies and forms.
  • Contact repair personnel for office equipment and general maintenance.
  • Handle arrangements for all SBNM events (e.g., faculty meetings, alumni dinners, advisory board meetings, networking events, Delta Mu Delta, public lectures).
  • Promote a sense of community within the office.
  • Handles special projects as needed.
  • Manage social media presence and communications to promote SBNM events, news, and highlight students and alumni activities.

Essential Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred; 1-3 years of experience in office management and event planning.
  • Self-starter with a high degree of ownership.
  • Ability to effectively coordinate many overlapping tasks.
  • Strong organizational skills/detailed oriented.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong interest in working in a student-centered office.
  • Must be able to work well under pressure and handle a variety of projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to relate well to a variety of personality types is essential.
  • Possess a high level of professionalism and maturity due to the handling of confidential and sensitive information.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative and understand and follow complex directions.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and databases needed, Datatel a plus.
  • Personal commitment to North Park’s mission of Christian higher education.
  • Ability to climb stairs into the office area and lift up to 20 pounds.
