Job Details
Defiance College invites applications and nominations for a qualified candidate to fill a full-time tenure-track faculty position in Developmental Biology or Anatomy and Physiology. The appointment will commence Fall 2019.
Teaching responsibilities include courses in the applicant’s area of expertise, as well as general biology, comparative vertebrate anatomy, vertebrate physiology and human anatomy and physiology. It is highly desirable that candidates have experience in molecular techniques and/or forensic science. The successful candidate must be a committed educator with previous teaching experience in higher education with evidence of effective teaching at the introductory level. Additionally, the candidate’s research should be applicable to developing an undergraduate research program. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about working in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment; be familiar with new technology and willing to incorporate technology into the classroom and laboratory; and be open to teaching strategies that enhance student success. Ph.D. required but advanced ABD will be considered.
