Texas Christian University (TCU) invites nominations and expressions of interest for the position of Associate Provost for Research and Dean of Graduate Studies.  The University seeks a visionary leader to oversee research intiatives and graduate studies across campus.

TCU seeks an Associate Provost for Research and Dean of Graduate Studies who will work across disciplines to facilitate and support faculty research and to enhance graduate programs. The ideal candidate will have an outstanding record of scholarly research or creative activity, extensive experience in academic administration of master’s and doctoral graduate programs, knowledge of research regulations and related compliance, and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The Associate Provost for Research and Dean of Graduate Studies will report directly to the Provost and must work effectively with deans, associate deans, department chairs, program directors, faculty, and staff to further the University’s mission and goals. This includes raising the academic profile through enhancing scholarly research and creative activity and strengthening graduate education, as stipulated in TCU’s strategic plan.

TCU was founded in 1873 and has grown from a small regional university to a highly ranked global university in a dynamic city and region. Enrollment at TCU in Fall 2018 was 10,918 students, with 1,473 students pursuing a graduate degree. The University employs 698 full-time faculty members and offers 58 master’s degree programs and 25 doctoral programs. In fiscal year 2018, TCU faculty received over $7.6 million in externally sponsored awards for research and scholarly activities. TCU affords its researchers and graduate students many advantages: an excellent library; outstanding research support, facilities and laboratories; broad-based computer services; an excellent atmosphere for learning and discovery; and, most importantly, the opportunity to collaborate with an outstanding and dedicated faculty, many of whom are scholars of national and international reputation.

TCU is ranked by U.S. News & World Report as a Tier 1 University and the Carnegie Foundation classifies it as a Doctoral/Research University: High Research Activity. TCU is located in Fort Worth, Texas, the 15th largest city in the U.S. (located in a metropolitan area of more than 6 million), a city known for its vibrant economy, cultural district, and world-class arts and entertainment venues.
