McPherson College (KS) invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Biology beginning August 2019. A Ph.D. in Biology or related field, completed by August 2019, is required.

The position will include teaching responsibilities for introductory biology, molecular biology/genetics, bioinformatics, or other courses that may play to the successful candidate’s strengths.

The Department of Natural Science’s faculty are committed to preparing our students for graduate programs in the natural sciences and the fields of environmental and human health; to providing them an education rich in practical experiences such as laboratory-based courses, student internships, and an undergraduate student research program; and to working closely with them as their academic advisor. The successful candidate will articulate how they will contribute to these goals.

Located in central Kansas, McPherson College is a private, residential, liberal arts college of 700 students, of which 120 are majors in the Natural Science department. The Curriculum
Majors are offered in over 20 academic disciplines. Pre-professional study and the unique option to design an individualized or interdisciplinary major allow students to combine select courses throughout the curriculum to meet their specific personal and professional goals. Our four-year, career-oriented liberal arts approach also provides students with opportunities for internships and experience-based education.

Accreditation
As a member of the North Central Association, McPherson College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC Self Study.pdf). Our teacher education program is certified by the Kansas State Department of Education and the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education. Campus Life
