Position Summary
Student Success Services. The Academic Success Coach provides individualized outreach to TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) participants identified as at risk on the Armstrong and Liberty campuses. The Coach provides participants with ongoing support, monitors and tracks their progress and connects them to relevant campus resources. This is a part time 30-hour per week position.

Essential Functions
  • Works one-on-one with participants to identify barriers to academic success.
  • Assesses participants' academic needs and plans, implements, and monitors progress toward participants' long-range academic goals for graduation.
  • Assists participants in researching graduate schools, careers/majors of interest and university resources.
  • Communicates with supervisor regarding additional outreach and support.
  • Attends training workshops/seminars and facilitates training workshops/seminars on both campuses.
  • Maintains participant database, records, files and academic resources.
  • Assists Retention Specialist with supporting participant success and retention initiatives.

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
    Effective communication (verbal and written), organization and human relations skills; ability to work well in a diverse environment; proficiency with computer and Microsoft Office Applications software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; legally authorized to work in the United States; successful completion of background investigation prior to employment.

    Preferred Education
    Master's Degree in higher education or related field

    Preferred Experience
    Prior experience working in TRIO Student Support Services or similar projects for low-income, first generation, STEM, veterans, ESL or disabled students

    Salary Range $15.00 per hour
