The Clinical Neuroscience Lab in the Department of Psychology, within the College of Arts and Sciences, seeks a Post-Doctoral Researcher to join our team. The College of Arts and Sciences is the largest college and the academic heart of the university. The College hosts 81 majors. The Clinical Neuroscience Lab is directed by Dr. Ruchika Prakash and the laboratory is funded by the National Institute of Health and the National Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society. Under the direction of the faculty supervisor, the Post-Doctoral Researcher plans, designs, and conducts research projects examining the effects of various lifestyle interventions, like mindfulness meditation and exercise training, on neuromarkers of sustained attention and emotion regulation; assists with supervision of graduate research assistants and research support staff; writes papers and presents findings at conferences and workshops; formulates new projects for studies; position available for one year with the possibility of extension based on satisfactory performance and availability of funds.

Ph.D. in psychology or neuroscience.

Strong clinical and research skills to collaborate on a five-year, NIH-funded randomized controlled trial on mindfulness meditation; experience with functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) and/or electroencephalogram (EEG), with strong programming skills in Matlab and/or UNIX; demonstrated strong communication skills through peer-reviewed publications and national presentations; commitment to graduate and undergraduate training and an interest in pursuing grants from federal agencies and private foundations.
