Position Description - The College of Education at Lehigh University invites applications for a tenure-track Associate/Assistant Professor position in our Educational Leadership (EDL) program, in the Department of Education and Human Services. Duties of the position include:
Conducting research and scholarly activity that is related to the leadership, organization, or policies of K-12 schools.
Teaching graduate-level courses in the educational leader preparation and doctoral programs.
Engaging in professional service at the university, college, program, and discipline levels.
Collaborating with local, national, and international educational organizations for the purposes of improving educational processes and policies.
Applicants must possess a doctorate or be near completion of a doctorate in educational leadership or a related field by the effective date of employment.
Our mission in the educational leadership program is to develop and support effective leaders for high-quality elementary/secondary education with an emphasis on equity and inclusion. Our vision describes effective leaders as individuals working collaboratively as scholar-practitioners who foster the cognitive and affective development of all learners through technological, managerial, and interpersonal skills as well as through agile and creative habits-of-mind. In addition, the educational leadership program offers a number of special activities, research teams, and projects in which faculty and students collaborate, some of which include: the Lehigh School Study Council, the Global Distance Program, and the Urban Principals Academy at Lehigh. Our program faculty demonstrate focused research agendas, which include scholarly journal publications and presentations. In addition, EDL faculty have experience in a wide array of K-12 educational organizations.
