Position Summary
Provide vision and leadership for the School of Protective and Human Services. Develop, coordinate and supervise educational and operational activities within assigned school. Ensure quality instruction and programming.

Anticipated start date of January 2, 2019

Duties & Responsibilities
Staff, supervise, support, and evaluate school faculty, staff, and services to assure effective teaching and learning.

Oversee class scheduling and instruction.

Coordinate and maintain program accreditation and licensure, if applicable.

Responsible for assisting with student recruitment, registration, orientation, retention and placement.

Coordinate with Educational Services to develop, maintain, and evaluate curriculum.

Effectively prepare and maintain budget.

Collaborate with others across the college to meet staff, faculty and student needs.

Identify and meet team and school goals in support of college goals.

Responsible for development, modification and implementation of programs and alternative instructional delivery and support of existing programming.

Responsible for internal and external communication and collaborative efforts.

Responsible for facility and equipment management and inventory.

Responsible for safety of staff, faculty and students.

Obtain and maintain any applicable certifications/licensures.

Serve on campus, College, community, regional and state-wide committees.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Master’s degree in related-field required.

Minimum of two years teaching experience at the secondary level or higher. Occupational experience in a field of employment related to the area of the school preferred. Prior supervisory experience and demonstrated leadership skills. Experience with contemporary approaches to effective teaching, learning, and assessment. Possess an awareness of current directions and trends influencing higher education and workforce development. Strong computer skills and understanding of educational technology. Must possess excellent problem resolution, organizational, interpersonal, communication, and project management skills. Must possess ability to: • Build trust by interacting with others in a way that gives them confidence in one’s intentions and those of the College. • Make decisions by identifying and understanding issues, problems, and opportunities; comparing data from different sources to draw conclusions; using effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate solutions; taking action that is consistent with available facts, constraints, and probable consequences. • Build a successful team by using appropriate methods and a flexible interpersonal style to help build a cohesive team; facilitating the completion of team goals. • Plan and organize by establishing courses of action for self and others to ensure that work is completed efficiently. • Build partnerships by identifying opportunities and taking action to build strategic relationships between one’s area and other areas, teams, departments, units, or organizations to help achieve business goals. • Facilitate change by encouraging others to seek opportunities for different and innovative approaches to addressing problems and opportunities; facilitating the implementation and acceptance of change within the workplace. • Delegate responsibility by allocating decision-making authority and/or task responsibility to appropriate others to maximize the College’s and individuals’ effectiveness. • Communicate with others by clearly conveying information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals or groups in a manner that engages the audience and helps them understand and retain the message. Compensation is dependent upon experience and qualifications.
