Position Summary

The Department of Neurology at Michigan State University is placed to announce its expansion. We seek BC/BE candidates with interest and fellowship-trained in the area of Behavioral or Geriatric Neurology. The position is ideal for an individual who would like a classic academic physician position, with elements of patient care, clinical trials engagement, student and resident education and a strongly supportive environment for initiating or continuing mentored clinical research.

The individual would be joining a dynamic and emerging team of clinicians and investigators both within the Department and across multiple disciplines at MSU including Biomedical Engineering, Radiology, Epidemiology and the Neuroscience Program. The hiring Division, Cognitive and Geriatric Neurology (CoGeNT), is led by Andrea Bozoki MD, and consists of a Nurse Practitioner, an R.N. a study coordinator and a study rater. The clinic sees over 1400 visits a year, with a 3-4 month wait list for new patients. While the majority of these patients have MCI or dementia, there is opportunity for new clinical faculty to add novel populations to the clinic’s practice over time (e.g. Down’s, traumatic brain injury, etc).

The Department of Neurology has an active and robust clinical focus and is affiliated with the MSU Neuroscience Program. The Department has a required medical school clerkship, an active neurology residency and expanding fellowship programs. We seek individuals who wish to work within a team to help expand the clinical practice and research programs at MSU.

Required Degree

Doctorate -Medicine/Osteopathic Medicine

Minimum Requirements

An MD or DO degree is required. Successful completion of either an ACGME or AOA Neurology Residency with additional Fellowship training in Behavioral or Geriatric Neurology. Candidates must be eligible for a physician's license in the State of Michigan.
