Job Details
Metropolitan College of New York (MCNY) seeks to employ Adjunct faculty members who have a passion for teaching, learning, and a strong commitment to our mission and ideals of our unique Purpose-Centered education. A model candidate will be skilled in generating student engagement in learning and critical thinking. Innovative teaching strategies are encouraged at MCNY, including the active use of technology. Adjunct Faculty teaching positions reporting to the Program Director of the Human Services, as well as, to the Dean of the Audrey Cohen School of Human Services & Education. Ability to teach one or more of the following part-time assignments available in the Human Services Program are as follow: Introduction to Social Systems, Social & Developmental Psychology Service Delivery Systems, Counseling, Community Psychology, Political & Economic Philosophy, Social Policy.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate must possess a Ph.D., ABD, or enrolled in a Doctoral Program in one of the following areas: Sociology, Social Work, Cultural Anthropology, Political Science, Psychology, Counseling, or a Human Services related discipline. Prior teaching experience (preferably at the college level), experience in working with individuals from underserved communities and ability to adapt curriculum to various academic levels is preferred.
