Education - Faculty Fellow Date: 09/24/2018

We seek a teacher-scholar (preferably with Ph.D./Ed.D. in hand) to teach four courses: 1) an intermediate course on global issues in education or comparative education; 2) an intermediate course on the role of schools in society; 3) an advanced course on social class and education; and 4) an additional course in the fellow's specialty area that offers a critical perspective on education and social justice in a global context. The successful candidate will be familiar with the liberal arts context, have experience in promoting civic engagement and be committed to working with public schools. The Education Program is especially interested in candidates who, through their research, teaching, and/or service, will contribute to the diversity and excellence of the campus community.

Colby is a private, highly selective liberal arts college with 2,000 students, recognized for excellence in undergraduate education and for close student-faculty interaction. The Education Program is committed to promoting social justice in schools and society at large; and it offers Maine State Teacher Certification at the secondary level as well as minor programs in Educational Studies and Human Development.
