Academic Clinician - PVAMC/HUP
The Philadelphia VA Medical Center (PVAMC) and the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Associate Professor position in the non-tenure academic-clinician track. Applicants must have an M.D. degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in education and clinical care. Applicants must be board certified in Internal Medicine and board eligible in Cardiovascular Diseases. The successful candidate will play an active role as a cardiovascular physician centered primarily at the Philadelphia VA Medical Center (PVAMC) and secondarily at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He or she will attend outpatient clinical sessions, inpatient care in the ward and coronary care unit, and participate in reading non-invasive imaging studies. Areas of programmatic need include non-invasive imaging, consultative cardiology, preventive cardiology and heart failure medicine. Leadership opportunities are available depending on expertise and areas of interest. The academic clinician track requires 100 credits/hours of active and high quality teaching responsibilities.
