Assistant Professor of Accounting

Overview:

The University of Colorado Denver (CU Denver) Business School seeks an Assistant Professor with teaching and research interests in any area of accounting. CU Denver has the largest fully AACSB-accredited graduate business school in the Rocky Mountain region. The Accounting Program at CU Denver is separately accredited by AACSB and offers an undergraduate accounting specialization, a Master of Science in Accounting, and a Master of Science in Taxation. CU Denver, one of four University of Colorado campuses, is located in the heart of Denver's commercial, cultural and recreational district. CU Denver attracts a diverse population, many of whom work while attending school and have significant industry experience. Appointment to begin Fall 2019, or as negotiated, and is dependent on funding availability.

Job Responsibilities:

This position includes research (40%), teaching (40%), and service (20%) responsibilities. We seek scholars who can produce high-quality research that can be published in top-tier journals. Teaching loads are commensurate with research oriented faculty and consists of 4 semester courses (3 hours each) per academic year at the undergraduate and/or graduate level. Faculty who are good corporate citizens and who will contribute to serve needs of the school and accounting area are valued. This position is a full-time tenure-track appointment.

AAA Annual Meeting:

Several of the recruiting committee members will attend the 2018 AAA Annual Meeting in Washington, DC in order to conduct initial meetings with interested candidates.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Candidate must have a PhD, or an anticipated PhD completion date prior to the beginning of the appointment, from an AACSB accredited (or equivalent) university. We seek scholars who demonstrate potential to produce research of excellent quality that can be published in top tier journals.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to candidates with research and/or teaching interests in accounting information systems, auditing, financial accounting or management accounting.
